Distinguished Features

1. Kittur Rani Channamma Residential Sainik School for Girls is the only Public School that is being run on the lines of Military Schools and Sainik Schools in the Country with the primary aim of “Empowering the Nation with Enlightened and Confident Woman”. The other objectives of the schem are:

a) To develop qualities of body, mind and character which enable the young girls of today to become good and useful citizen of tomorrow.
b) To enter into a world of tomorrow as disciplined and tolerant members for holding responsible positions in various walks of life.
c) To inculcate and cultivate courage in facing any eventuality especially in times of need, stress and national emergency.

2. While developing sound character, team spirit, dedication to duty, patriotic outlook and desire to serve the country with efficiency, the school prepares students academically for Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board [Class X] , and Karnataka Pre-University Education Board [ Class-XII ] and Common Entrance Test conducted by Karnataka Education Authority.

3. The School imparts instructions in English medium. Since all scholarship holders are obliged to take Common Entrance Examination for professional courses like Medical and Engineering after the plus two stage [after passing class XII], the school caters for science stream subjects only.

4. Besides academic advancement, the students are encouraged to develop their creativity through co-curricular activities and Socially Useful Productive Work. [SUPW]. They are also introduced systematically to all major games and sports including NCC training.

Faculty:
The Principal is the Chief Executive and Academic head of the school. He is assisted by the Administrative officer in administration, the Director PU Section and the Head Mistress in academics. The teaching faculty are highly qualified, experienced, motivated and dedicated. Besides, there is a sizeable staff to cater for the administrative needs of the school.

Class Rooms:
The School has two Academic blocks, one each for high school & PUC section. They are the centers of learning, comprising of spacious, well ventilated and well equipped classrooms for Std VI to PUC II year.

Information Technology:
The School has a well equipped computer lab with latest provision of computers with multimedia kit and Internet. Computer Education is imparted on nominal payment to all students from class VI onwards.
To supplement classroom teaching with information technology each class room has been installed with Smart Boards, Video Projection Systems etc. to support technology added teaching, learning and assessment programs through the “Class Teacher Learning System”.

Common Entrance Test [CET Coaching]:
The completion of syllabus prescribed by the PU Board is not the aim of the lecturers working in this institution, it also includes emphasis on CET, to prepare the students for Professional courses. Expert Lecturers in the field are invited as per the requirement.Adequate number of test practices are given before the students finally take up the CET during the month of April / May each year. Many PUC second year students from this school have joined medical institutions on MERIT and a very large percentage of them have joined reputed engineering colleges. “ Efforts are being channelized to start CET coaching to the student's from class Xth Only”.
